Groningen World's Highes Climbing Wall



People of the small town of Groningen in the Netherlands must be fun because the world's highest climbing wall in their home. Not only do those who live in Amsterdam have reason to be proud of their record-breaking 37-meter (121 feet) tall climbing tower, but since the tower was constructed in 2004, climbing enthusiasts have something to look forward to in an otherwise flat country.

The world’s tallest climbing wall is called the Excalibur and is located within the Bjoeks climbing centre that features an indoor climbing wall. Because of the tower’s curved design, the Excalibur offers climbers of different levels a cool place to practice – for more extreme climbing, the concave portion of the tower that features a steep overhang of 11 meters (36 feet) offers a challenge.
