5 Amazing Artwork Made of Food
1. Oreo Beyonce Portrait
To celebrate the return of Beyoncé to UK stage, Oreo commissioned a renowned food artist Michelle Wibowo to create a portrait of the popular singer from 3780 Pop Oreo.
For those of you who don't know what Pop Oreo, delicious sphere made of crushed Oreo cookies and mix with Philadelphia cheese cream. Michelle asked help former Atomic Kitten member Jenny Frost, and his son, Casper, to celebrate the return of Beyoncé to make this edible portrait.
2. Marshmallows Michelangelo Painting
Michelle Wibowo is renowned food artist from UK, who recently showed her new work Michelangelo painting replica, The Creation of Adam.
This work has 5.7 meters length and 2.8 meters wide, and made of 10,000 marshmallow and nearly half million cake sprinkles. To complete her work, Michelle takes 168 hours. The project was created to mark the 450 years anniversary of the death of painter Michelangelo.
3. Creating Unique Images
Hong Yi is a 26-year-old artist who uses a wide variety of food as an art medium. Cucumbers, mini tomatoes, soy sauce, vegetables, ice cream, or meat, are some of the foods used in creating artwork. Until now, Hong has made 19 art forms that are included in the series Creative With Food. According to her, the hardest work is made when using Oreo. In these works, she must carve out four dog shapes using biscuit cream.
4. Pasta Painting
Alabama-based artist Vernon Spicer, using pasta such as spaghetti, macaroni, lasagna and noodles to create a variety of stunning paintings.
We often find artists using unusual material for their paintings. This time, 71-year-old artist who was also a Vietnam veteran made paintings from pasta.
Vernon also a pastor at a church in Selma, Alabama, patiently preparing one by one pasta on canvas. All done in great detail. It takes extra patience to finish. Fortunately, Vernon's wife, Audrey, have always supported him to continue working.
5. Elvis Presley Giant Portrait From Coffee
To celebrate the Art of Hawaiian Coffee at Waikiki DFS Galleria, the employee makes a giant portrait of Elvis Presley of 5,642 coffee cups with 10 different shades.
Portrait of 16 feet length and 25 meters width managed to break the world record for the largest coffee mosaic art.
Previous Guinness record holder in this category successfully solved in the Rocks Aroma Festival, Australia in 2009. At that time, the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority made a giant portrait of Mona Lisa which consists of 3,604 cups of coffee.
To make this giant mosaic, Waikiki DFS Galleria employees use digital photo prints as a guide in placing various shades of coffee.
Hawaii is the only region in America overgrown coffee. Therefore, Hawaii had a special kind of coffee that's worth a try.
